Affordable Custom Web Site Design

Web design, there are so many aspects to it. We have to make sure our designers know what we want and how we want it. Let’s look at some of the aspects of hiring a web designer.

Site Type: If your site needs any special coding… make sure to tell your designer; your designer may or may not be able to do special coding. If you want a flash site you will need to find a flash designer. Flash sites are different and generally cost more when buying a custom made one.

The Style: With so many web designers there are so many different tastes and opinions. Each designer has something they like and something they don’t like. This means what they like might differ from what you want. You should specify what you want in your template. You should describe the style you want. Tell them you want the site to look (for example) Glossy, Simple, Web 2.0, Clean Cut, ect., or whatever you choose it to look like.

The Layout: Tell them where everything should be placed in the template. Tell them if there should be one or two sidebars; also tell them if the sidebar should be placed on the right or left (if there is only one sidebar). Tell them if there should be a graphical or text header. They should also know any other information that could be used to make your template unique. The layout is very important. Make sure you know what is going to be on your website, sketch out where everything should be placed. This is very helpful in planning.

The Theme: If there are any specific images you want in your template you should tell/show your personal designer. For instance, if you are starting a site on cheetahs… tell them to do an African-animals theme; also tell him to incorporate the cheetahs because that is the sites theme. The most important part is to tell your designer what colors to use. If there are… use relevant colors to your theme. Do your best to know what the user wants.
