How to Personalize Ready-Made Sales Web Pages for Your Site

How do you take a web page or ready-made sales page and adapt it to use on your web site?

Some of the packages come with a set of pages, for example, sales pages, thank you pages, etc. With these packages, you simply upload the entire folder to your web site, and each page should work.

But, you will still have to go into each page and customize everything.

On a lot of them, anything you need to fix is in pink - so just look for the pink lettering and replace it with your info, like your name, etc.

Generally, as long as you upload the entire package in its folder, then all the links in the package should work.

If, on the other hand, they do not, this where it gets really tricky.

You are going to have to go one by one through the links and route them where you want them to go.

Here is a typical listing of where the links should go:

1) On the sales page, there should be a link to your payment page. Typically this link or script is provided by paypal or your merchant service.

2) On the payment link, you want it to redirect people to the download page.

3) On the download page, you want the links to the product to work. There is usually a spot for your name and email address, be sure you put that in too. On your email address, do not make it live, rather use (you at domainname.com) so the spiders don't pick it up and send you spam

4) If there is an upsell on the download page, it gets even more complex. You will have two buttons on the download page, one to download the product, the other to buy the upsell.

5) The upsell page will go to another sales page, or to another payment button. The upsell sales page must also have a payment link. On this payment link, you will need to set it up so that after purchase it redirects to the download page for the upsell. The download page for the upsell should include both the download link for the original product itself as well as the download link for the upsell.

I think that about covers it. If it sounds complex, that is ok. It is actually simple - but it is alot of linking to different pages, and if it is not right, then your customers are going to get confused and maybe upset - and rightly so.

The first time I did one of these it took me like 4 hours, now I can go through the entire process in about 10 minutes. So just take your time, diligently going through each step and testing each link after you do it, then check every link once it is all done.
